Petrobras is expected to become the world's largest oil producer among publicly traded oil companies by 2030, according to the latest statistics and projections released by Norway's leading energy analysis company Rystad Energy.
However, Petrobras could not have demanded better results. The world's fastest-growing oil producer has almost total control of more than 8 billion barrels of oil in the Buquias field, where Petrobras plans to build its sixth floating oil-producing deoiler and unloader.

To develop these and other offshore resources, Brazil plans a $70 billion offshore capital investment boom between 2020 and 2025, focusing on offshore oil fields, according to the Norwegian energy analysis company.
"The significance of Petrobras becoming the world's largest listed oil company within a few years is huge and symbolic," says Rystad Energy's vice-president of the upstream team for exploration and development in Latin America. "We expect only Brazilian oil to increase production by more than 1.3m b/d over the next 10 years."
